BellyPal wasn't born in a brainstorm. It was built during my wife's first pregnancy in 2023 because I wanted her to have a doula available anytime — not just at appointments. I'm a software engineer, so I built one.
How BellyPal grew

An AI companion my wife could text anytime — for reassurance at 2 AM, help preparing for appointments, and a way to save pregnancy moments without opening an app.
Added Support Circle
I wanted to help during the pregnancy but often didn't know how. So I built Support Circle — where BellyPal sends partners and family role-specific guidance on how to actually show up.
Second pregnancy with postpartum support
Our second pregnancy taught us the fourth trimester is the loneliest. BellyPal now transitions seamlessly into postpartum — adapting check-ins for recovery, feeding, emotions, and guiding your circle through it all.
